A total of only 1,140 bottles were bottled at 58% ABV. What's special about this is that the barrels were brought to the small island of Yakushima (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993) for maturation. The barrels spent a total of approximately three years there. The climate, with 75% humidity, gave the whisky a distinctive note of wood and cinnamon.
